چکیده

Severe weather conditions not only damage electric power infrastructure, and energy systems, but also affect millions of users, including residential, commercial or industrial consumers. Moreover, outages due to weather-related natural disasters have been causing financial losses worth billions US dollars. In this paper, we analyze the impact on revenue suppliers, particularly top five disasters. For purpose, reliable publicly available outage events data are considered. The provide time event, geographic region, electricity consumption tariffs, social economic indicators, climatological annotation, consumer category distribution, population land area, so forth. An exploratory analysis is carried out reveal associated risk. catastrophic disaster categories investigated individually predict related loss. most influencing parameters contributing efficient prediction identified their partial dependence loss illustrated. It was found that with a function several parameters, duration, number customers, tariffs indicators. findings research will help suppliers estimate risk, as well authorities make risk-informed decisions regarding infrastructure systems planning.

Towards Simulation and Risk Assessment of Weather-Related Cascading Outages

Weather and environmental factors are verified to have played significant roles in historical major cascading outages and blackouts. Therefore, in the simulation and risk assessment of cascading outages in power systems, it is necessary to consider the weather and environmental effects. This paper proposes a method for the risk assessment of weather-related cascading outages. Based on the analy...
